Meeting people from the internet in real life requires a massive amount of trust. We don't take that lightly. Safety isn't an afterthought at WithMe; it's the foundation of the platform.
Here's how we keep our community safe.
1. Phone Number Verification
Every single user on WithMe must be verified with a valid phone number. We do not allow VOIP numbers, Google Voice numbers, or burner apps. If a user is banned, their phone number is blacklisted permanently. This significantly reduces trolls and fake accounts.
2. Community Moderation
We empower our users to curate the community. Our reporting system is deeply integrated into every interaction. If someone makes you uncomfortable, sends inappropriate messages, or flakes on a meetup without notice, you can report them with two taps.
Our human moderation team reviews reports within 24 hours. Users with multiple verified reports are quietly removed from the platform.
3. Public Meeting Places Only
We require all Vibes to be set in public locations—cafes, parks, sports complexes, or restaurants. If our automated systems detect an address that appears to be a private residence for a public Vibe, the post is flagged for manual review before it goes live.
Safety is a Shared Responsibility
While we do everything in our power to verify users and moderate the platform, your safety ultimately relies on your intuition.
- Always meet in public
- Tell a friend where you are going
- Don't share sensitive personal information too quickly
- Trust your gut: if something feels off, leave.
We're building a space for genuine connection, and that requires zero tolerance for bad actors.
